• Shields and ZPMs
  • Remove shield drainage and recharge feature
    • This is because the shields draw their power directly from the ZPM, as long as there is power the shields will hold up. This does mean that the ZPM power gets drained as long as the shield is active.
  • Enable drainage of ZPM power
    • This is actually quite a cool thing. We can make ALL events have a direct impact on the ZPM power level from pressing a button to connecting a worm hole. At the moment these events will be:
      • Activating the shields
      • Dialing a chevron
      • Connecting a wormhole
    • Other things wouldn't use ZPM power such as moving to the gatescreen or actually viewing the DHD console since those would draw their power from the laptop they were running on 
    • The number that scrolls across each ZPM should reflect its current power level
    • It would be neat to store everything so it starts off from where it left off the next time it is run but this would require a third party application to write the data for Flash. I could use Zinc but I doubt many of the sim modders in the future would shell out £200+ for the Windows, Mac or Linux plugins. Could use the batch file support feature I already built in to do this maybe. Use a command line to pipe the text into a config file? I'll look into this i.e. give it a test go

  • Add better pause support in numerous places:
    • Power Bars
    • Shield
    • Dialing
    • Debug Panel
    • Status Panel
    • Dialed Symbols Panel
    • Power Panel
    • Translator Panel
      • If it's paused via the triangle button, then the main sim is paused and then unpaused then the translator panel should still be paused since it was originally paused via the triangle button
      • Same with debug panel since it shares the same pause button triangle
      • There's some lame ass class caching going on, simply clearing SO files isn't helping. Had this the other day and the only instant fix I could work out was to rename the class file and all it's implemenations. Going to find a better fix than that this time.

  • 9th Symbol Dialing
    • Moved this back into future release work since the next SG show will use the 9th symbol so it's kinda dumb for me to include it now and then have to change it later on 
  • Offworld gatescreen idea – Suggested by SGC
    • I've checked out the outgoing gatescreen and there is only room on it for 8 symbols. theres a panel with 8 numbers on it below the symbol display as well, no room for a 9th.
    • Might make it animate in a 9th number to the list
  • Image based gatescreen. There will be a new gatescreen option which is “image_gatescreen” or something like that. It will use external jpgs for various sections. This will allow people who dont have flash and want to use their own customised screen to make them easily by just over-writing the jpg file. Now know what the real gatescreen looks like so will make a whole new screen that is fully actionscripted, this will replace the current gatescreen
  • Make examples of other gatescreen types. For example a c# or php version. Its possible at the moment with the getURL method although there isnt an example at the moment. Might add a third method which would be “loadVars”.
  • Incoming wormholes – this was a whole section I thought about to late. It's got to get in there at some point
    • There should be an XML option to turn these off since a few people have said it would annoying to have them happening all the time.
  • Real-time dialling – so each time you click a DHD button the gate dials that symbol. Needs reworking of the localConnection object but it's doable.
  • Better quality sounds – need clearer ones without background music or speech over them. They need to be equalised with the rest so their all the same volume etc.
  • Random timed events – a bit of a contradiction but its two things in one. Incoming wormholes are one type of event but others might be the DHD shorting out or an alien system taking it over.
  • Screensaver mode

  * Onscreen address book with quick dial – basically a list of addresses and destination names. Clicking on one would auto dial that gate. Meant to do this for v1 but I expected way more addresses to be available already.
