• “No no, that't more like a fruit machine effect, we we're after the matrix effect”

This is a Flash logo created for CTI Support Networks Limited by request of 438 Communications. Its going to be used on their landing page.

The concept is that the orange box appears and then a rolling animation of chars and numbers starts from the top downwards. These should follow the Matrix effect. After x amount of time the numbers 438 get drawn as the Matrix effect ends and then the word COMMUNICATIONS appears underneath.

At this point we getURL() to the main site. This also involves using the .js helper script thats used on this site so we can avoid showing the “Click here to activate” box. Finally theres going to be either an animated gif or a still image that can be used in the noscript tags incase users dont have Flash. That will be wrapped in a link tag so it acts as a button to enter the main site.

Matrix Effect

• Seen on The Matrix DVD Scene 1 Act 1 – the very beginning of the first movie
• Random chars in vertical strips slide from top the bottom of display
• The chars in the real thing are a mishmap of languages and entirely new chars (i think anyways about that last part)
• Some chars stick in place and then later on carry on sliding down
• Some chars cycle through other chars while sliding i.e. 0-A-3-C could be a cycle for one of the sliding chars
• Other chars dont cycle and remain as the same char they started out being
• Some of the head chars glow i.e. the ones at the bottom of a vertical segment glow
• Theres blank space inbetween some segments
• When “The Matrix” is written by the falling chars the ones above and around it fade out as they carry on sliding
