Completed
- 01.02.07

- 25.01.07
- Those were not the final amends, screensaver needs changing again...
- Can we have the Nissan Preferences moving around the screen? Along with images

- Can protect you from unforeseen risks
- How it Works
- Why it makes sense
- When this page loads, the sentence at the bottom: With Hire Purchase, you have the right to.... still disappears very quickly. Please can you alter the timings so that the customer has more time to read and absorb the information.
- Added an extra 3 seconds to the time it was on screen. Before it was 2 seconds, now it's 5.
- Why it makes sense
- How it Works
- What happens at the end of the agreement?
- When you click through this page too quickly you end up with the image of the NOTE, on the left, overlaying on top of the smaller images on the right hand side of the page. This needs to be resolved.
- Couldn't recreate this issue so have had to do it on blind faith
- Added extra redundancy checks in to ensure past items in this section have been removed
- What happens at the end of the agreement?
- 10.01.07
- These I promise you are the amends! (09.01.07)
- In benefits, can you please add a full stop after every bullet point
- In benefits – please remove ask for details at the base of page
- In How it Works, Why It makes sense, Hire purchase – please reduce the size of the text at the base so it is consistent with all slides
- 19.12.06
- Tinkered with screensaver settings slightly as the car parts seemed biased towards the top left section of the screen.
- 12.12.06-17.12.06
- Home
- The Homepage is not looking right. Can we remove the image and have a large line drawing in the middle of the page, building as is it does, with maybe the car parts underneath?
- The Benefits
- Benefits – flexible deposits = add fullpoints all the way through
- Benefits – flexible deposits – remove subject to status and add an * at beginning, plus add an * to the third bullet at the end
- How it works
- How it works – we set your guaranteed future value = Please upper case (first letters only) Optional Final Payment (this amend needs to be made through out)
- How it works – you pay the remainder = Please upper case (first letters only) Optional Final Payment
- Why it makes sense
- Why it makes sense = please build this section slower
- What happens at the end of the agreement
- please add full stop after statement.
- Also the information disappears. Can this please remain
- Think this refers to the final paragraph of the "how it works" section
- Questions and answers
- Q& A – add full stops after all answers – no3, 7

- Also if you are in a section, such as ‘What happens at the end of an agreement’, if you click on bullet one, then move to 2, you cannot go back to one. Can you please fix throughout
- What this doesn't say is that he also wants sub bullet point navigation implemented
- Also being able to click on the current bullet point again while it's the current one
- I have also attached the CD cover with instructions on how to load the Presenter onto a PC. Can you please amend these as necessary
- Can you let me know when this & the screensaver will be ready, as I have now had to commit to the whole thing being printed and delivered for end of next week

- 08.12.06
- Matt said it's fine and told me to start the screensaver, counts as project complete
- 22.11.06
- "Complete doesn't mean complete", received new list of changes as shown below:
- General
- Where 'GFV' or 'Guaranteed Future Value' appear please add (Optional Final Payment) afterwards.
- Home
- The feedback was that this was not obvious as a Home Page, can we please add a graphic that indicates this?
- The Benefits
- 'Can protect you from unforeseen risks' – please amend the text as follows on the first bullet point. guaranteed Future Value (Optional Final Payment) – we take the residual vale risk if you decide to hand the vehicle back at the end of the agreement (subject to mileage and condition)
- 'Can protect you from unforeseen risks' – please add a cross reference to the second bullet point and add the following text at the bottom. "Assumes you return the vehicle at the end of the term"
- 'Reduces your repair and maintenance costs' – please delete the full stop from the second bullet (after 3 years).
- 'Increase specification by adding accessories of your choice' – second bullet, there is a reference to '...adding the value to your Preferences agreement...', please amend to 'adding the cost....'. There is also a double space on this bullet between 'yours and Preferences'.
- 'Flexible deposits and fixed payments' – please add a cross reference to the third bullet point and add the following text at the bottom. "Excess mileage charges will apply if agreed contractual mileage is exceeded."
- When all of the bullet points are displayed on the left side the vehicle appears under the text, can this be amended by moving the text closer together?
- How it Works
- 'We set your GFV' – please add (Optional Final Payment) to the bullet point and amend the sentence of text which appears under the image as follows. "We calculate a minimum value for your car at the end of the agreement, dependant on your driving requirements. This is the optional final payment."
- 'Pay a Deposit' – the text at the bottom disappears. This needs to remain until the user clicks onto another icon. This is the same for 'We set your GFV' and 'You pay the remainder'.
- 'You pay the remainder' – please add the following text to this section. We deduct the deposit and Guaranteed Future Value (optional final payment) from the on the road price and you pay the remainder (plus interest on the remainder and the Guaranteed Future Value) by fixed payments during the term of the agreement.
- 'Why it makes sense' – can this please build at a slower pace.
- (i) In the HP section, under 'Settlement figure?', it 'funds', can this be amended to read 'own funds'.
- (ii) In the Preferences section, please delete 'easily' from 'but could easily be more!' under the heading 'Minimum value guaranteed!'
- (iii) In the Preferences section, under 'Outcome', there is an asterisk with the second bullet – please add the following cross reference *subject to mileage and condition
- 'What happens at the end of the agreement?' – can this please build at a slower pace. In addition it ends with a blank page, can we please leave the last text.
- Questions & Answers
- Q What if my car is worth more than the GFV set by Nissan? – the reference to 'profits' should be 'profit' singular.
- Q What happens if I cannot afford to pay the GFV? – the reference to 'Or if you want...', please delete the full stop immediately before this and replace it with a semi-colon. The sentence will begin 'or if you want...' lower case.
- What next?
- Can we please add 'Nissan Finance (GB) Limited' together with the following statement – Finance is subject to status. Guarantees and indemnities may be required.

- Officially the end of the requested changes
- Images of car – did my best about the quality, this is as good as it gets with a dynamically resizing application. If it was a fixed size app then there are other routes we could try but since its not...
- Why it makes sense
- changed animation sequence to match new spec:
- left panel animates in as before
- shrinks and fades out in center of screen when its finished displaying its information
- then right panel appears in the middle of the screen
- when thats finished it slides to the right
- at the same time the left panel slides to the left while fading in
- changed animation sequence to match new spec:
- 07.08.06
- Why it makes sense
- Added sub bullets
- Higher purchase
- Preferences
- Added sub bullets
- Made content box get drawn at the start with the rest of the main interface
- Asked Matt about new content box idea – Given thumbs up
- Implemented new content box idea – looks way better :¬)
- Due to the above all slides are created/destroyed quicker
- Removed self loading from all slides, now when you click a main menu item you must then manually click a subpoint to load. before it auto-loaded the first slide point in each section.
- Home
- Gave it a new content box outro since it no longer does the What Next? section prior to restarting
- What Next?
- Rewrote whole thing!
- How it works
- 3 Part Car – stopped it auto-animating, the dealer MUST click to make each part appear after the previous text has faded out
- 06.08.06
- Made all slidepoints fade in/out together instead of one at a time
- Decompressed the movie so it uses less CPU juice
- 05.08.06
- General
- Added "What Next?" to main menu at right side
- What Next? slide is final slide and remains until clicked
- Swapped text – "However choosing your next car ..." replaced with "However, with such a great range of vehicales choosing your new Nissan might not be so easy!"
- How it works
- Removed self load animation from this section. i.e. after intro loads the main interface it DOES NOT auto select the first option, they must select it manually from the menu
- Questions and Answers
- Setup interlink highlighting – doesnt highlight/shade the previous/next slide points when one is selected. Just highlights the current one and shades the last one
- 03.08.06

What Next Page?-
Make the text in the green bar all CAPS, its mixed case atm.
-
- 06.07.06
- Moved the * type texts to be glued to the bottom of the content box.
- Fixed screwy width thing on final page, looked goofy in the browser
- Added home button functionality
- 05.07.06
- Finished the updated left panel and then applied same changes to right hand one for two panel page
- Added ticks and crosses to the 2 panel slide
- Created bottom left car animation
- Thout about a new effect for sliced car parts although the simple fadein has kind of grown on me. Decided not to add a new effect as theres no time left for totaly new additions.
- 03.07.06
- Broke apart text boxes used on the 2 panel page so can control spacing between h1s and h2s which hopefully will give that extra bit of room needed to add the ticks and crosses next to each point.
- Added arrow to last slide of "How it works"
- 02.07.06
- Finished the questions and answers page
- Implemented a main interface outro for when it returns to the home page
- Created content box animation for the very last page
- Finished "What Next?"
- Added slidepointbutton h2 functionality, this was needed for each slide to highlight the relevant sub point on the left hand side. you can see this happen when its on the "How it works" page.
- 01.07.06
- Created trade the car for a new one or keep it yourself animation pages5-6
- 30.06.06
- Created sliced car animation for the How it works page.
- Locked the main menu until the content box has been drawn
- Finished interpage navigation
- Finished sliced car animation for "how it works"
- Finished 2 panel animation for "how it works"
- Finished implementing page transitions from pages 1-3
- Added compensation for intro images _y
- 29.06.06
- Finished implementing slide point jumps i.e. when point 5 is clicked when its only currently on point 1
- Depending on whats clicked it either fades in or shades the ones in between the last and currently selected buttons.
- Finished new content box setup. Now it handles the outro of each slide instead of all the sub components.
- Correct intro images _y
- didnt do anything. it looks a bit low but when i placed a ruler in there as a visual aid to locate the _y center of the page it went straight through the center of the images. It could be a kind of illusion due to either the header or footer text being in the wrong position. I'll have to dig out a real world ruler to test that though :¬)
- arh... now I know whats going on. Its because the height of the bottom text is taller than the height of the main nissan title but their distance from the top and the bottom is the same. it means there is less space between the images and the bottom text then there is between the images and the main title. I can build compensation in for this to center between these two points. Just added it to the todo list.
- Added keyboard support
- Press the space bar to advance to the next slide, will also move between pages once i've set that up
- Added "slide and fade from right" intro effect for slide text blocks
- Added automatic vertically repositioning code so text blocks will space properly when resized
- Finished benefits page 2, the one with the hazard & MOT symbols
- Created repairs/mot animation – page3
- Created rotating box animation – page4
- So this became a rotating triangle cos I thought that was cool :¬)
- Made it so it counter resizes i.e. doesnt appear to be resized when the rest of the interface is. this was to fight the terrible aliasing that would occur when it did get scaled.
- 27/28.06.06
- Finished main class rewrite
- Had 3 classes before, combined them all into one and rewrite how they handle the slide objects
- Started the new content loader. The last one couldnt handle the event that someone moved to another slide by clicking it in the menu. Well it could but I wasnt happy with how it turned out. This version will use the mask that is used when the box is first introduced, the one that reveals it from the top left corner to the bottom right. The idea is that when a slide has finished playing or the user manually advances to another slide that the mask will slide out back to the top left corner, hiding the currently visible content, kinda like erasing it almost. At that point the new content starts loading in.
- Finished generic resizer code. Now the whole interface resizes correctly regardless of the screen resolution. It looks pretty crap on anything lower than 800x600 but there had to be a minimum.
- Added drop shadow to content box
- 25/26.06.06
- Rewrote intro handler
- Mostly rewrote the main page handler. This was 3 classes before which I've combined into one master class
- Moved alot of the animating timing information into the 2 main classes (main interface & intro) so they can be better controlled.
- 24.06.06
- Stopped slide text from getting scaled up with the rest of the content box. Instead it will just extend the width so what starts as a 3 line paragraph might end up as one long line. If the box is shrunk below 100% its original size then the text gets scaled downwards. This stops the text overflowing the box when the box gets too small.
- Added bullet points to slide text
- Made all the cars on the first Benefits page the same one instead of the randomised setup I had before, will stick to the docs from now on ;¬)
- Put light background box around each group of cars as well as their titles
- Put V between cars to force the "versus" point of view
- 23.06.06
- Completed slide point navigation – that took all night, turned out to be trickier than it seemed to have the slides progress on their own timer as well as progress when clicked. Well the tricky part was getting the others to animate accordingly but now its done.
- Replaced Door and Tire images including remaking the pngs
- Think old door looked better as it had fat lines like the other images
- Content box border no longer gets scaled on resize so it looks neater
- Created 3 cars vs 6 cars animation – page1
- Implemented proper vertical centering for intros images. Can only really see it with the offline exe version since the online one has a fixed stage height (but not width)
- Exe created for first Nissan demo
- 22.06.06
- Slightly altered height and _y position of header bar to make it more inline with the spacing used in other places i.e. the content box and slide points
- Finally successfully coverted the fonts yaaay
- Renamed the fonts internal names (Typeface name) as they were all the same so Flash was only seeing one of them
- Bold version doesnt seem to match the one in the provided image, its just not as bold
- Finished implementing new main menu effect
- No longer uses the H2 effect on the slide points, instead just fades each one in as a single whole block
- No longer elasticates the main menu
- Implement a better vertical spacing system for points
- Added images next to slide points
- 21.06.06
- Tinkered with fonts some more, got absolutely no where grrrrrr
- 20.06.06
- Asked Matt for Nissan fonts
- Could only find these and there isnt a skinny one
- For the moment using:
- Helvetica Neue Black Extended
- Helvetica Neue Extended
- Helvetica 53 Extended
- Didnt ask Matt about green lines in back of presentation
- Are they just paper defects?
- yes they are :¬)
- 18.06.06
- Finished mouse support for main menu
- Jiggled the classes up a bit so things were grouped where they where supposed to be codewise
- Found a bug in the tweening class I use, its Zehs MC Tween. Spent a good chunk of the day trying to fix it but spent too much time on it so had to implement tons of workarounds throughout the presentation.
- 17.06.06
- listening to Mystikal, its pretty cool
- Created a good mouse handler system for the intro, users dont have to click the image buttons and it stores whether they clicked while it was loading and automatically proceeds.
- Created main interface panels
- Created H1 menu
- Created Content Box
- Home Outro and leadin to The Benefits
- After intro has finished, leave it on screen until they click
- Click
- Random image buttons pop out of visibility until theres none left
- Header bars get drawn in, top one and bottom from left, middle from right
- Content box gets drawn in from top left corner to bottom right
- Main menu items animate in
- The benefits button then animates to its "selected" state
- "The Benefits" begins
- Created H2 menus (slide points)
- Created slide timer/progression helper
- Worked out the best method to resize the slide points based on available room
- Implemented Aspect Ratio scaling for the content panel. this took ages as it needed lots of attention. I'm not even sure how the content will look when its rescaled, its 50/50 whether the fonts get messed up. If it works then it means the entire interface is able to autosize its sub components to virtually any size screen
- 16.06.06
- Created H1 text animation (Nissan Preferences)
- Created H2 text animation (The flexible way to drive a new Nissan)
- Completed home page drop image buttons
- Completed cool screen resizing :¬)
- Set correct colors
- Swap images for final versions on home page image buttons
- 14.06.06
- Create intro button/image effect
- 13.06.06
- Implement cool screen resizing
